It’s not an overstatement to say that T1 and Nerd Sreet Gamers’ tournament was incredibly fun to watch. From Hiko’s insane 1v4 clutch to EliGE popping off at every possible moment, VALORANT proved that it can live up to the hype as an esp
The Incendiary can get into areas that you may not even be able to see too, since it can bounce around corners. This is another ability that’s really going to reward map knowledge; once you’ve got a really good understanding of the map, the angles, and the areas that enemies are likely to be in, you can get a lot of use out of the Incendiary Launcher without even having to put yourself in harm’s
So far, VALORANT has been compared most commonly with Valve’s ever-popular tactical first-person shooter, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive . When looking at the basic playstyle of the game, this is definitely true due to how weapons and the economy funct
Cypher is the number one defensive character. His Trapwire and Spycam abilities are perfect ways for your team to allocate more resources towards other defensive points. Trapwires work completely passively. When an enemy is caught, they are revealed, dazed, and tethered. Even if destroyed, it will disappear on the mini-map, still alerting the entire t
While there is not a lot of mobility in Valorant, to begin with, characters who possess mobility skills can take the upper hand in almost any battle. As aiming is a key element in Valorant, any skils that disrupt the normal amount of mobility are sure to mess with a player’s
Finally, Viper’s ultimate is the Viper’s Pit. This creates a large cloud of poisonous gas that cannot be seen through at all and ak47 Skins damages all who step inside it except for Viper. It remains active as long as Viper stays inside it and all enemies that enter it will be mar
Brimstone begins the top-5 lineup on my list, bringing the best smokes in VALORANT for both offensive and defensive team plays. His incendiary grenade can zone out hot points; His Stim Beacon can grant rapid fire. Brimstone’s ultimate ability, Orbital Strike, has the capability to outright kill players caught within its range. Although not the largest area-of-effect, the strike hits quick and h
Sage takes the cake. Her healing orb is infinitely valuable in almost any situation. Shot in the body? Heal yourself. Teammate beat up? Heal them instead. Restoring lost HP is useful, and Sage can do it quic
Run it Back is Phoenix’s ultimate ability and the true reason for his namesake. If Phoenix dies a short amount of time after casting it in a location, he will come back to life where it was cast. However, Phoenix can be attacked while being revived, so players should plan where they set this ability
This smoke can be used offensively to great effect too, used to block off valuable enemy sightlines allowing for you and/or your team to enter a site without defenders having access to their most favorable positions. Defenders are going to adjust to this as the match plays out, and you’ll have to feel out which areas they’re moving to in order to continue getting value out of these the longer the match g
Riot Games has made it explicitly clear that the game focuses heavily on gunplay more than it does the use of abilities. This means that the player with the better aim will win fights more than a player with better abilities. This is unlike Overwatch as the use of abilities is heavily encouraged. However, team composition is still key to winning rounds and having a team pick the right characters can be what determines a loss from a win. Here is how a team can make the best team composition in Valora
The Slow Orb is an explosive orb that spreads across the ground and slows all players that step in it. Player in it cannot jump and make more noise than usual. This orb can be hit off walls to get around corners and ang
The Incendiary can also be used to push an enemy out of cover that they’ve already gained. This can be a fantastic way to push an enemy into the waiting crosshairs of either you or a teammate, since the enemy’s only options are becoming a burn victim or taking the gunfi
One of the best features so far in the game is its training grounds, which allows players to practice in a multitude of different ways. Players can load up bots with different difficulty levels to practice aiming, as well as use targets to measure weapon spread at different distan
I’m going to get flack for this. But to be honest, one factor makes Omen less viable in the competitive scene: his predictable abilities leave him extremely vulnerable. His smokes are good, but they require manual placement and actuate very slowly. While Brimstone has the same grievances, he can place three smokes with much greater range, rendering Omen’s a worse alternative. His teleportation is also limited in range and quite slow to actuate. As far as his ultimate, it can be quite good, but the fact that everyone is acutely alerted upon its use makes it very difficult to be steal
