Return to the wooden bridge and continue downwards until you reach a pond-like area. In the distance, you’ll notice a man in white clothing standing menacingly. This is the final boss of the Bamboo Grove region , known as the Whiteclad Noble. Approach him to trigger a cutscene, where you’ll see he has a fondness for poetry.
From then on, Xu Dog, our typical Virgo, will be on call to help empower our hero with his medicinal expertise, always having upgrades on hand, and happy to help out if given the correct resources, all in order of cou
There are a few ways to make the fight against the Yellow Wind Sage easier, the most prominent of which is the Wind Tamer . This vessel improves your damage resistance and can be used to dismiss the Samadhi Wind that the Sage summons. To track down the Wind Tamer , you’ll need to complete the Yellow-Robed Squire’s quest and enter the Secret: Kingdom of Sahali. After defeating the boss there, you’ll receive the Wind Tamer.
Throughout the story of Black Myth: Wukong, we hear a lot about the legendary hero Sun Wukong, to the point that if you weren’t paying that much attention, you might assume that you were playing as
It’s not a great time for Xu Dog when you first run into them, with his medicinal formula having been eaten by a shock-infused toad, but luckily for him, The Destined One is ready to put things back in order and retrieve his docume
Black Myth: Wukong is full to the brim with interesting characters, all steeped in layers of Chinese mythology, as well as parallels to the 16th-century novel Journey to the West. With such a wide array of characters, it’s natural that you might wonder which lines up with typical Zodiac sign personality tra
But once you’ve dealt enough damage, it’ll reveal its true form as a grotesque bug with an elongated tail shaped like a hand. The difficulty will ramp up, but this fight is so memorable for the reveal, and it likely won’t cause much trouble. In fact, once you’ve beaten it, the beast acts as a pretty useful bri
Whichever option you choose, make your way through the door and follow the wooden path until you reach Guanyin Temple . Interact with the Keeper’s Shrine here and be sure to rest again. You will now unlock the Craft Armor feature . Craft the Pilgrim’s Headband, as it will allow you to heal while sprinting. If you have enough resources, craft the entire Pilgrim’s Set. Now it’s time to equip the set and continue your Journey to the West Game.
During your encounters with the blacksmith in the Ruyi Scroll area, he’ll remain more stoic but get a lot more lively and talkative when engaging the Destined One in combat. His hesitance to admit the strength of the Destined One compared to his own and Wukong’s makes him easy to associate with the more stubborn aspects of a Tau
After speaking with the old man, cross the bridge and follow the linear path. You’ll encounter some lizard-like creatures along the way — defeat them or run past them; the choice is yours. Once you’re beneath the bridge, instead of moving forward, turn around and head in the opposite direction . Eventually, you’ll reach a pond where a giant frog will attack you.
As you journey through Yellow Wind Ridge in Black Myth: Wukong , one name comes up frequently: Yellow Wind Sage. They appear frequently in enemy lore and dialog as you make your way through this chapter, building them up as a powerful sage who can command the wind and terrifies many of their subordinates. Sure enough, when you finally make it to the huge whirlwind at the heart of Yellow Wind Ridge, you’ll find the sage just as powerful and dangerous as advertised.
When you reach a fork in the path, take the left route to find the third Meditation Spot. Interact with it and open the golden box on the table. The box will reward you with a Celestial Taiyi Pill , which permanently increases your Mana . Now, take the previously ignored right path and continue along the linear route. Eventually, you will reach another Keeper’s Shrine. Congratulations, you have now completed the Bamboo Grove and are at the beginning of Black Wind Cave.
When selecting spells, both the Red Tides and Azure Dust Transformations are decent choices here. Burning the Sage can cause quite a lot of damage, making Red Tides a good choice, but Azure Dust makes you incredibly tanky and can knock him flat if you manage to land the heavy attack or spell. The new parrying spell you got from the Tiger Vanguard, Rock Solid , is excellent for knocking the Sage off balance and giving you a chance to counterattack. In terms of dishing out damage, Pluck of Many is insanely good at tearing through the Yellow Wind Sage’s health bar if you use it right before, or right after, knocking him down.
Continue forward, defeating any enemies and gathering plants along the way. Eventually, you’ll encounter your first true boss, the Bullguard . Instead of attacking him immediately, take the left path, where you’ll find a creature near a rock (the creature will flee upon seeing you). Approach the rock to acquire the Skandha of Form , a key item that will be useful later.
