The Half Wood Elf is the best Ranger race in BG3 for players who don’t particularly like the idea of playing as a Gnome. Monks rely on DEX and WIS for the majority of their abilities, and Way of Shadow Monk builds are no different. Choose a background that either fits with these types of skills for further bonuses to your rolls, like the Criminal which grants proficiency to Stealth (used for Hide) and Deception.
Cause a metal weapon or armour to glow red-hot and force the creature touching it to let go or receive Disadvantage on Attack Rolls and Ability Checks. If the creature is only wearing metal armour, it always rcccivcs Disadvantage. If the creature is still touching the metal, you can use a bonus action on subsequent turns to deal another 2d8 Fire damage and force the creature to let go or receive Disadvantage.

Call down a silvery beam of pale light that deals 2d10 Radiant damage to any creatures that enters it or starts its turn in the light. You can use an action to move the beam 18m. On a successful save, targets still take half damage.
If you are dead set on including a character in your party, simply talk to Withers to respec them to one of the optimal Ranger companion classes listed above. This way, you won’t miss out on that character’s questline, and you won’t have to suffer from an improperly balanced party.
Though there aren’t a lot of choices to make as a Monk, BG3 still provides the Way of Shadow subclass with plenty of new abilities and skills – they are just granted automatically for being a Way of Shadow Monk, rather than offered as a choice like some other classes.
Generate a painfully intense ringing noise that deals 3d8 Thunder damage to all nearby creatures and objects. Affected creatures made of inorganic material such as stone have disadvantage on their saving throws. On a successful save, sword Bard archer creatures still take half damage.
The max level in Baldur’s Gate 3 is Level 12, and most of the time, each level you gain will grant something new for your Ranger build. On character creation you gain the basics for the Ranger class, then steadily gain Feat Choices, new spells and abilities, subclass features, and increase your Proficiency Bonus.
Karlach : Best suited for the Berserker subclass, Karlach is capable of dealing some of the most consistent, highest-hitting melee attacks on her own, and with two supports you won’t be at a loss for HP or dispels.
Your weapon flares with white-hot intensity. It deals an extra 1d6 Fire damage and marks the target with Searing Smite. A target with Searing Smite takes 1d6 Fire damage every turn, until it succeeds on a Constitution Saving Throw. If the spellcaster misses the initial Attack, the spell slot and Bonus Action are not consumed.
The Natural Explorer traits for Rangers in BG3 have been changed from Fifth Edition D&D , too. There are three versions of Wasteland Wanderer granting different resistances, Urban Tracker for the Sleight of Hand proficiency, and Beast Tamer, which grants the Find Familiar ability.
