It took six years since EA got the exclusive rights to develop Star Wars console games, but last year we finally got our first, full-fledged action-adventure game from them. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order delighted with its story, gameplay and world design. Despite this, there were a few technical problems. In addition to bugs, glitches and frame rate issues, the game also suffered from, you guessed it, long loading times. This was particularly true when traveling between planets. Luckily, PS5 presents so much needed to boosts to load times.

What is interesting lies outside the campaign when Europa properly opens up. The mysterious moon of Jupiter holds many secrets within the Clovis Bray facilities and discovering what the infamous Golden Age scientist was up to leads to genuine fantastic revelations that manage to push the story of Destiny further. All the intrigue and interesting lore bits surrounding Clovis Bray might have ultimately made for a better campaign than what Beyond Light does offer. Outside of its use in the story, Europa functions like any other patrol zone. Players load in, fly their Sparrows around, participate in Public Events, loot some Lost Sectors and complete quests. Europa distinguishes itself from other locales with its random snowstorms, that while impressive the first few times, get old the more you play. The Bray facilities’ glossy white internals are unique enough compared to other locations, but wandering around Europa doesn’t feel any different from any other location.
With many more classes to choose from than Destiny 2 , Maplestory offers players plenty of progression options, and most classes come with their own quests and storylines, in addition to the expected differences in gameplay. The PS4’s swan song, Ghost of Tsushima dazzled us with its beautiful world, which took some time to load. Unfortunately, playing the game off the SSD on PS5 doesn’t impact the loading times. Despite launching a patch that optimizes the game for PS5, it does not appear that the SSD plays much of a factor. It’s extremely odd as loading has benefited every other PS4 game tested.

Of course, this wouldn’t be a new Destiny 2 Subclass Guide 2 expansion without a new Raid and Beyond Light delivers a standout one. Deep Stone Crypt fuses atmosphere, storytelling, puzzles and challenge in an immensely satisfying way. It’s the crowning achievement of Beyond Light, even though few players might actually get a chance to enjoy it. After the Raid, there’s precious little else to do. As mentioned before, the removal of content has left the remainder of Destiny 2 a shell of its former self. There’s less of everything in Destiny 2: Beyond Light, but at least the gameplay is still fantastic. Bungie’s gunplay has been spot-on since it first released Halo: Combat Evolved and they’ve continuously improved it since then. Destiny 2: Beyond Light remains a fun, fluid shooter to play through and will help take your mind off the continuous grind for a bit.

The rift events are like spontaneous miniature strikes, with their waves of enemies challenging all players in sight, and cooperative gameplay is very helpful, just like in so much of Destiny 2 . As an RPG, character progression in Rift will also be familiar to Destiny 2 fans, with a high degree of customization to match every playst
Santa Monica Studios’ Norse-themed sequel to the classic God of War trilogy was breathtaking when it launched. With a sequel planned for PS5, many players are likely to want to replay God of War ahead of time. Load times aren’t terrible on PS4, but switching over to PS5 offers some substantial improvements, especially when booting up the game.
